Here is our kids inc. team. We had a great year. Again we played 6th graders and we only lost one match, so I think that was pretty good. Kaleigh loves volleyball. Give her a ball, balloon and she is bumping it, 24-7. I love watching volleyball and especially watching these girls play, so it works out for everyone. Dumas is known for their volleyball program, so thats a plus for us!! Till next time.....

Moore County Gin

The kids love to go to the Gin and jump on the piles of cotton seed. We ended here after the dairies and good thing, because the kids are usually shedding their clothes because they are itchy and rubbing their eyes and sneezing. But they have a great time and its fun watching them. Till next time....

Finally!!!! Its ours, 110 acres of nothing fancy, but we think its perfect. We are so excited to be land owners and can't wait to get started on making it our home place. Were not in any hurry to do anything just yet, but making our plans and drawing up the house of our dreams. I will keep you posted. Till next time....

Faria Dairy

Now this is a Bigger Dairy. They milk about 14,000 cows a day, its huge!! They are in the process of building another building, so they will be milking even more. I think i remember Carl saying that they milk twice a day. Here are some of them.

This is the carousel that the cows load up into. The guys clean them and then put the milker on them. That machine will identify each cow and tell them how much milk they produced and an average from them. Pretty amazing.

Dairy in Dumas

Not sure when we did this, but one Saturday after Carl started slowing down, we went and checked out two of the dairies in town and ended the day at the cotton gin. This Dairy is kind of like the ma and pop dairy in Dumas, its small and very friendly. If you haven't been to a dairy its pretty interesting to see the cows get in their positions and the guys hooking them up. Its like the cows know what to do and where to go. The milk goes to the drums, then to the trucks and then its delivered. Not sure how many they milk a day, but the milking station has about 30 at a time. Small compared to the dairy I will post later. Till next time.....

Yes, yes, I have not been here in so long I almost forgot how this thing works. It is slowly coming back to me. I don't even know where to start. I have so many things to share. Our laptop crashed, so after Christmas I ordered a MAC laptop. I love it, but it has definitely been trying on my nerves. It's like learning a whole new system and a way of thinking. I have been trying to sync Carl's ipad and get everything going again with the new operating system. I will try and download some pictures so I can get back on track and get caught up. I am not promising anything soon, but I will try!!!

After Cannon was done with the mut bustin, we headed out and rode some rides. The kids love going to the fair. And we love the food!! So, its a win, win situation. Thank goodness it only comes once a year.

Ok after several attempts to fix the order of these pictues, I just decided to throw in the towel and leave them. Cannon and Carl talked about Cannon entering the mut bustin at the Tri State Fair. Cannon did good, not as good as he did at the Dumas rodeo, but still proud of him for getting out there and trying. We didn't make the finals, but he had fun and thats all that matters. Lake Mackenzie

We went to Silverton last weekend and we came home through the canyons. Cannon wanted to see the Lake so we drove around a minute. I couldn't believe how the lake has gone down. They need some rain, like everyone else!! When I was in school, that middle island was covered with water. We skiied on the lake and I don't think you can do that anymore, just fishing. It is still so pretty out there. Lots of memories! Till next time...

Tech volleyball camp reunion

We headed to Lubbock last Friday night for the Tech camp reunion. They picked two girls from a bucket to help shag balls at the game and Kaleigh was one of the girls picked. She was so excited and a little scared, but did fine. She said she had fun so thats all that matters.

Mother loves jewelry, she has too much of it. So what did we get her for her birthday? Some more jewelry!! She was in Heaven.

Taylor got her this little doo dad, for the frig. It is supposed to keep it clean, keep it from being stinky and all that stuff. Some litle gadget she found on QVC. Which is another thing mother loves, so you can't go wrong shopping there!!

Shandy went to a wedding and was the only cousin missing. What a group of great kiddos. Love them so much!!

We once again pulled it off and had a great rally at the alley. Somehow everything fell in place and we had a great turnout and people opened their wallets for a great cause.

A great night with friends and fellow red raider fans. We gave two scholarships this year and very proud of our two ladies that will be heading to Lubbock. Wish I was going with them!!! Rain

We got some much needed rain and the kids loved it. They loved it so much they just about bathed in it!! I knew they were playing in it, but didn't know they were sitting in it. So you know me, hey guys just a sec..... let me go get my camera!!

I go in for a sec and come out and Cannon and Ethan are laying in the intersection. I just about died. So after I snapped a picture, I told them to get up and and don't ever do that again. Crazy kids. Its funny what a little rain will do to kids!!!

They said they were trying to get people to drive by and splash them. We actually knew the people in the jeep, he was laughing, probably wishing he was a kid. Lets say they both needed a bath after this!! Till next time.....

Tech Volleyball camp

The girls had a great experience at the Tech volleyball camp this summer. They got autographs and before you know it, the coach had called all the girls over to take a picture with them. They were grinning from ear to ear.

The camp was for 6th graders to 12th grade

The girls can't wait for the season to start and we will probably take them to a game. They think they will get to visit with the team and Kaleigh thinks even get down on the court. Dream big Kaleigh!!

We are winding down summer and have just a few days left to hang out. We are going to try to get to Amarillo tomorrow and go bowling or see a movie. We have been going to bed early and trying to get up and get around in the morning and not be lazy. I think the kids are ready to start and I know I am!! Till next time.....

Jake Hurley Mullins

Meet Jake. He came into our family on May 11th. We are so happy for Dane and Lori. I can remember when Mikel would talk about them having a boy and naming him Jake and calling him Jake brake. I know he was smiling down from heaven when he saw this little one.

Tech Baseball camp 2011

Cannon and Jaeden went to Lubbock for the Tech baseball camp. This is them at the end of the second day in the 110 degree heat. Let me tell ya it was hot and those boys must really love baseball.

Santa Fe

We lost a dear family member about a month ago and went to Santa Fe to go to his funeral. Rex Ward was such a great family man and will definitely be missed by everyone. When we were leaving Carl said lets see if we can find the capitol and walk around downtown for a bit. So I found it on the GPS and we were there in no time. These first pictures were taken at the Basilica and the church was beautiful. It reminded us of our trip to Notre Dame!! We are so ready to go back.

This was Friday before lunch and I told Kaleigh this was nothing, come Saturday the square would have been crazy with jewelry.

We walked around the capitol building for a minute.

The guy at the front desk said "Oh, don't forget to check out the buffalo on the 2nd floor" We weren't sure what it was going to look like, but I think we had something else in mind.

Alligator ranch in Spearman

Who would have thought in Spearman Texas population.... very small, they would have an alligator ranch. Well, they do and we drove over one day to check it out.

Pretty much everyone held one, but Kaleigh and I. I touched it though and that was ok for me.

We were there at feeding time. Let me tell ya, it stunk. They eat day old chicken and it was hot and we didn't stay very long!!!

This is Kaleigh's buddy Brooklyn. They are tight. I think she was like me, hot and ready to go. You seen one alligator, you seen em all.

Don't know why there is a boat in the parking lot, but you know me... hey kids, jump in and lets get a picture. I wish I could tell you more about the alligator ranch, but I wasn't listening to our guide very well, in fact I don't really remember what he said. Oh well. Till next time.....

Dogie Days Parade 2011

Another Dogie Days parade is over and what a great one. We were so happy this year to have Raider Red join us. The kids loved him and boy did he work the crowd. He was so good.

We gave 2 $1000.00 scholarships to two very deserving young ladies that will be heading to Lubbock in the fall.
They were both in the top 5 of their class academically and very excited about what Tech has in store for them. We especially liked that one of the girls chose Tech.... her dad was an aggie!! Smart girl.

Addie's shoes. Are they not the cutest. Her mom found them on the internet. She is always dressed to the T. Slowly but surely catching up on my blogging. I have so much to share with you that we have been doing this summer. Lots of fun stuff. Till next time.....

This is Kaleigh's volleyball team. They played with Kids, inc. and were undefeated. Their coaches moved them up and they played 5th graders. We were so proud of these girls. What a team!!

After each game, we went to Frazzleberries for ice cream. The girls love that place and so did the parents!! We are looking forward to this fall and hopefully another undefeated season.

To say Cannon likes baseball is an understatement. He loves it. He was sad that camp just lasted a week. To see him smile while he is out there playing is priceless.

Coach Williams was talking to the kids and telling them they were all winners. He told them that great baseball players start by playing catch and to get outside and play catch with your friends.

We couldn't have asked for a better day for field day. No wind and it was like 85 degrees. Perfect!! We had 4 bouncy houses. Popcorn, snowcones, punt/pass/kick, prize walk, watermelon feed and ended with a water gun fight. I think everyone had a great day.

Another great year at Hillcrest elementary. Kaleigh will be attending the intermediate school next year and I am excited for her, but also a little worried. I know she will do great, just worry about all the drama that goes along with girls and a new place. Cannon will continue at Hillcrest and we love it. Till next time....

Kaleigh received some great awards during her school year at Hillcrest. She received commended on her Taks reading and math test.

They gave a new award this year for a student that showed great character during the year. Kaleigh won that also. So proud of her. She is a great student. Again, just like her mama!!

I love these trees. They have been blooming all over town. This tree was in my friends front yard. Easter has come and gone and flowers are opening and the only thing that I don't like around here is the wind. Cannon turns 7

Cannon picked some flowers for my birthday. I am the luckiest birthday girl around, so happy I get to share it with my little man.

Of course Cannon wanted to play laser tag after Kaleigh's party. So we did just that. I played this time and if you ever get the chance to play it really is alot of fun. I'm not very good at it and realized I don't have quite the energy of a bunch of 7yr olds.

He was so happy to finally get to open his presents.

Can you ever have too many Nerf guns? Cannon says no!!

and he had alot of help openening his gifts. Tissue and wrapping paper were going everywhere and I'm not kidding!!

Kaleigh and her friend Jaci were at a horse judging show and got there just in time to try out the poppers.

I didn't forget the candles. In fact I think we may have overdone them just a tad...

As we say goodbye to ages 9 and 6 I cherish my kids and all the fun we have at their birthday parties. Its alot of work, but so worth it to see them so happy. Till next time.....

Remember the Alamo

Oh, just wait until your kid gets in 4th grade Texas History and has to make an Alamo. We had probably a month to do it and of course we waited until the last week to do it. I say never again, but it will happen. I thought she did a good job. It took us a couple of days to finish and boy was I glad to turn it in and then see it go in the trash.

The soldiers fighting inside the Alamo. I wanted to add some indians. Carl said I better go google the Alamo and wondered who the heck was my history teacher. Someone please tell me there were Indians fighting at the alamo!!

Spring Break in Mount Vernon

We went to Mavis's house for spring break with David, Heather and Logan. It is beautiful there. Here is a picture of the house, which is for sale. She decided it is too much to take care of herself and I totally agree. I know she is sad to sale, but she has alot of great memories there.

Every room has doors that you can walk out to the wrap around porch. Very cool. I kind of felt like I was at a resort.

This is Logan's four wheeler. We want one now.... Dear Santa, thats what I told the kids.

Heather is pregnant with little Cooper. She is done and ready to deliver any day but I think she has to wait till May 15th ish. You can do it girl. Hang in there!

There is a fishing hole right by the house. Mavis said it was stocked with plenty of fish.... I'm not sure about that. We didn't catch a thing. :( We did get a little sunburned.

Give boys a stick and water and they are set. I think they could play all day and be totally content. Logan and Cannon had a blast. The only thing is they start looking for bigger sticks and getting closer to the water, which was a little stinky.

I can't believe my little girl is 10. She told the cake lady what she wanted and I think it turned out so cute. One of Kaleigh's favorite shows is Cake Boss. Maybe she has a future in it. I love you Kaleigh Baby!!

Funny shot, can't wait to show them when they head off to college!! I love it.

After laser tag, we came back to the house for hot dogs and cake. The girls loved the laser tag. Not sure they felt that way about our hot dogs.

Sorry Kaleigh that your redneck mother didn't get any candles. So we used matches. It was a little tricky, she had to blow fast.

And we sang fast.

The cake was so good and we were surprised when we cut into the bottom and it was so colorful. The girls thought it was way cool!! I did too.

The Culwell

This is the Culwell Ranch. Scott and Stephanie Venable own it and invited us to come and cook out and let the kids play. They had a blast. It is beautiful out there. He has some cattle, but mostly he has it set up for dove and deer hunts. Feeders are everywhere and some deer came up just before we were going to leave.

The house was totally gutted and redone. The oldest house in Hartley County. It is beautiful. They did a great job. We had alot of fun and Carl and I beat everyone at left, right, center. Its a great game if you don't have it. (its a dice game). Till next time....

Wide Angle

I rented a wide angle lens to take to a workshop I went to last weekend and I'm glad I did before jumping in and buying it. It is not cheap thats for sure. I took it to Kaleigh's volleyball game and used it. I could definitely see how fun it could be to have this lens. I loved the way it got the whole gym in the shot.

Cannon, Brendi, and Abrey. Would you believe they are all in the first grade! Such a wide range of size. Don't you remember a girl in your class that was bigger than everyone else. Shavonne was the girl in our class, it wasn't long until the boys and some of the girls caught up with her.

Volleyball is over. We won our last match against the red team. The girls were so excited. It couldn't have happened on a better day, Kaleigh's birthday. I will be blogging about that soon. Its spring break and we are loving it. The weather has been so nice and we are headed out of town for a quick trip. Till next time....

Texas Tech Baseball

A couple of weekends ago we were in Lubbock and took the kids to a baseball game. Boy did it bring back some great memories of when we used to go to the games. Sitting in the coke box with the Dortons. Seems like a lifetime ago. Cannon got a baseball and Carl took them to the Outfitter and they got a Tech shirt.

The fields looked so good. Tech didn't play so well that night. They got beat by TCU which always has a very good program. Maybe next time.

Fun times at Dan Law Field. Not sure but I don't even know if that is still the name of the stadium. I must say Texas Tech looks so good and I can't believe how it has changed since we were there. Certainly a class act. One thing I don't miss is the traffic and construction. I don't think there is a street that doesn't have orange cones everywhere for some reason or closed. So frustrating when you aren't sure where you are going... lots of new streets around that place. So much to blog. Not sure if I will get to it. Spring Break and the kids have alot of things planned for us. Till next time...

Random blog day

I am having a blah day. I didn't sleep well last night and I feel like I'm getting sick. I can't get sick, we are too busy to get sick. I leave tomorrow to go to Lubbock for my Captivated Workshop. I can't wait. I hope to learn so much and maybe get some things rolling. Not sure if I'm ready, but none the less I can have fun and learn more about photography. Kaleigh is playing volleyball at the YMCA. They have improved so much from last year. We actually have some rallies going on!!

This is Hamburger II. We butchered Hamburger I and eating him right now. We are just about out of hamburger meat, so he will be headed to the butcher soon. Nothing like having your own beef, it is much better than buying it in the store. The steaks are sooo good. Do you think he knows, he doesn't look very happy.

This is Cord. I saw a picture like this on the website for angel fire and wanted to try. I thought it was kinda cool. I think thats me, Kaleigh and Tarran in his goggles. We had a good time. The snow was ok, but they definitely needed some. They have gotten alot of snow since we went and we are itching to go. Hopefully we can sneak away a few days during the week. We like doing that!! Thats how we roll...

This is the craziest thing, some of the pictures turn and some don't. Sorry. Missy and Shandy- Twinkies on the slopes. Aren't they cute!!!

A time for Tatum

A couple of weeks ago we had a benefit for a family in town. Robbie and Wayne's son Tatum. He has been diagnosed with a form of Huntington's disease called Vascular Cholera. Their family has been through so much since he graduated from high school. He has had open heart surgery and a major stroke and many seizures. He has been at the Mayo clinic where they have been running lots of test and came up with his diagnosis. He is doing alot better now, but continues to be on some very powerful medication. His diagnosis may not be curable but is treatable. Carl worked for UAP and that is where Robbie works. When all this came about a few of us decided to get together and do something for them. And it just snowballed. People started donating things and before you know it, we were planning a party with a steak meal, auction items, and a dance. I can't believe that I was a part of this great night. We raised close to $20,000 for them. I am honored to have been there and that I helped such a great family.

Cannons true love!!!

A few days ago the three of us headed out to ride. I was going to just walk around and take some pictures of stuff around the pens. But you know me, I had to take pictures of my boys. So I have a bunch of them. Forgive me.

Now how can you not take a picture of that cute face!!

After they rode, they played a little football. He loves to play catch, in fact if your walking through our living room you might get hit with a football if your not watching. He didn't want to sign up for baseball because he was afraid it would interfere with football. He will always ask me who I want him to play for when he grows up. Last friday before our fund raiser, everyone came over and we talked about things we still needed to do before saturday's bid day!! Cannon was watching T.V. and working on a loose tooth. He came into the kitchen and asked if I would pull his tooth. Karen said I will pull it and give you $5.00. So she started working on the tooth. She used dental floss and was trying to tie a knot around it and pull it. It was so little she couldn't do it.

She worked and worked and just couldn't get it.

She asked for the big guns. We pulled out the hemostats and she put some saran wrap around it so it wouldn't be so slick. She was serious.

A few tugs and a count to 5 and bam it was out. Cannon was glad it was out. Karen left and he said mom that hurt, I will never let her pull another tooth. He got his $5 dollars and 2 from the tooth fairy. What a funny little boy!! Till next time....

Father/Daughter Dance 2011

Last weekend was the last one of our Father/Daughter dances. Kaleigh will be headed to the intermediate school where they don't have these dances. They have real dances, that I won't let her go to because her dad won't be there. Did I mention she is 9yrs old, fixing to be 10. Oh Lord help me. She has a count down and every day she tells me how many days until her birthday. I can't believe she is growning up so fast. She is so sweet, tender hearted, and loves American Idol. She loves to shop, play on her ipad and knows more about computers than any of us!! I always laugh when Carl will come home and say Kaleigh will you fix my phone, its not working right, and she fixes it.

I took some pictures for our friends wedding, Morgan and Shannon Heck, and the reception was at the Alley Cafe. A local place here that is known for their great desserts. There is a wall where everyone has written their name and the owner let Kaleigh and Cannon put their John Hancock up there. They were so excited. I haven't taken any pictures in forever. We are headed to Dallas in a few days. I hope the weather cooperates. We are supposed to get snow on Tuesday and leave on Wednesday. Cannon has the flu and coughing his head off. I remember when Kaleigh was this little. Kamrie is 4yrs old, but with such wisdom. We lost a very dear neighbor last week. Pop is what we called him. Kamrie told her mom she wanted Jesus to come into her heart because she knew if she did, one day she would get to see Pop again. Now how sweet is that. Now you see why I love this little girl so much!!

I have been wanting a new camera bag, but wasn't sure what to get. I had my eye on a few and read a few reviews about the Kelly Moore ones and my decision was made. I love it. It will hold my camera and at least 3 lenses, plus more if I really wanted to. The color is teal and its so cool. I can't wait to take it to my workshop in March. This is Logan. Carl's brother David and Heather's son. We got him a remote control four wheeler. Santa got him a real four wheeler, so we thought he would like it.

This was a gift for the baby, that we didn't know the sex of. But now we do and they are having a boy and for now naming him Cooper. We kind of like the name Cooper!! Congratulations guys.

I was looking at all the pictures I have been taking over the break and I got a little overwhelmed. I thought I will never catch up with my blogging. But slowly I have gotten there. I absolutely love this time of year. It can get hectic at times, but you can't beat it with kids. They are so fun to be around and are great little helpers. I have about 90 other things to do, but I am sitting here blogging, and blogging is not on my list to do, but thats ok. I am almost done with my christmas shopping and that takes a little of the heat off. We will be so busy these next couple of weeks with things at school, church, violin recital and parties. We were having trouble with getting the turkey done, so we checked Cissy's thermometer in my beautiful pan of hot rolls!!!! It worked.

We had so much food, we hardly made a dent in it. It was delicious. I don't even think we cut a piece of pie after lunch.

Pop always has the kids put on some play, they love it. This year they did a comedy segment. Its is so fun and such a great tradition for our family. Here is Cannon showing the different acts!!

They did some knock knock jokes and even got help from the audience this year. Love these guys!

Friday morning (black friday that is) us girls headed out for some shopping. We made a mistake and stopped for breakfast and it slowed us down, but not to worry we got some great things. We talked to a lady who stood in line at old navy for $5 pj's. Crazy!! We had better things on our list.

That evening we went out to the Throckmorton's in Midkiff for some pizza in Glenn's oven he made. They were really good. This is Carl's uncle Tim from Dallas. Not sure if he was admiring the cotton gin or the oven. He is always thinking with this face.

This is some drink Amy and Glenn found in Italy. I would hate to say I went all the way to Italy and this is what I brought back. Its awful. I can't even explain how bad it is. Some love it, Carl is one of them. We just went and bought 50 lemons to make some for us... him. Its called Lemon Chello.

They toasted with it. I wish I had gotten a shot of everyone's face when they were done. That would be ugly faces I promise. Its definitely an acquired taste.

We had a great Thanksgiving and always enjoy seeing the Speck's from Dallas. Great shopping, food, movie time, and visiting. It doesn't get much better than that. Till next time....

All the dolls getting their hair done. They charged up to $30 a hairstyle. We decided to spend that money on some outfits. And we did!

You can eat at the Bistro and here are the chairs to put your doll in so they could sit at your table. We didn't eat there. We ran out of money!!

We went to Dallas a couple of weeks ago to take the kids to the state fair. We stayed with Carl's brother David and his wife Heather. Carl's cousin Donna and her husband Bobby came from Corpus Chrisit. Friday we went to the fair. And saturday we shopped. And did we ever. First we headed to the American girl store, then Sam Moon, then finished the evening at the Bass Pro Shop (with the boys). We had a great weekend with family and making memories. We ended the weekend with Cissy and Pop and went and saw Shrek the musical. I love Dallas just don't like the traffic, thats why you need a driver. Sunday we headed out very early to the lake in eagles nest to fish. It was perfect. So peaceful and cool. Just a great day.

This is Bailey Brown. Kim and Brooks daughter. She is so sweet and goes everywhere with them and never complains. She has two older brothers and she travels to every football, basketball game and a cousin that she watches play volleyball. She is definitely a trooper.

Red River Hatchery

Feeding time at the Hatchery! I hope you can see how they are jumping out of the water to eat. It was so cool.

I had to take this picture through a glass window. But you can see how many and how small they are.

Kaleigh had to register us as being visitors to the Hatchery.

We didn't get to go in this building, they were already locking everything up. I was taking the picture through the fence. I'll take a wild guess and say this is where the fish live when they get bigger and kind of mimics a stream. Like I say... wild guess!!

After we finished fishing in Red River and playing around in town, we decided to head out to Questa to the Hatchery. We got there late and almost missed it. But we got a chance to walk around and visit with a gentleman who was locking up. They feed the fish and stock the lakes around the state of New Mexico. The guy told us they don't stock the lakes with these fish here, they just want to show everyone how big they can get. We only got to stay there about 20 minutes, maybe we will try again another time when we can get into some of the buildings. If you are ever in the area, you should check it out. Till next time...

Ski runs without any snow. So beautiful.

We headed to Angel Fire/Red River last weekend and had a great time. The weather was perfect. Cool mountain air is the best. We got there on Friday night and I had to put my coat on, I loved it. We drove over to Red River on Saturday morning and fished in some local ponds and Kaleigh caught the most fish... She caught all the fish actually. I had some big ones get away!!! You could see them swimming all around our bait, they just wouldn't bite. I love the mountains and can't wait to go back, snow or not. I love that place. I will post more pictures of the fun things we did in Red River. We went over to the Hatchery which was a stop you definitely want to check out. So glad we did and the kids loved it. Sunday we went out on the lake in Angel Fire and it was like glass. It was beautiful, can't wait to share those pictures. We caught lots of fish then. Cooper's birthday was great. Bless his heart, that poor child will never want for anything. He is a funny little boy, with a wonderful family. The only bad thing about the weekend is I felt like I was getting sick on Saturday night and sure enough Monday I was in bed felling terrible. I couldn't even walk the kids to school. I took their picture and went back to bed. I still blow my nose like 100 times a day but I am feeling much better. The kids love school and I just signed Cannon up for flag football. Hoe Down

This is one of Evan's smallest students. She is 3. Her violin is tiny. We are trying to get Cannon to take, but he doesn't want to. We're trying to get him to take guitar lessons. We could almost have ourselves a family band!!

Kaleigh had her violin hoe down a couple of weekends ago. It was a nice night and everyone did a good job. Here are a few pictures from the evening. We ate and had dessert. I made some homemade ice cream and wanted to share the recipe with you, it was so good. It took a little longer to freeze but way worth it.

Coca Cola Ice Cream recipe:

6 eggs separated

1Tbsp vanilla

2-3 cups milk

2 1/2 cups sugar

1 14oz. can evaporated milk

1 10-12 oz. coke

Beat egg whites till stiff. Add yellows and mix well. Add sugar and mix. Add can milk and mix. Add coke and mix. Add vanilla last. Pour into ice cream freezer canister and add enough milk to fill canister. Stir, freeze and enjoy. May take a few extra minutes to freeze. Be sure to have enough ice and salt!!

Hope you like it... We started school Monday and the kids both love their teachers and classes. This is going to be a good year I think. Till next time...

This picture pretty much sums up our weekend trip to Dallas..... HOT!! Wait, I'm not saying Leandy is hot, sorry girl, you know I love you, but Dallas is just plain HOT. I'm not sure how you people get used to the humidity, I don't think I could. We bought this little number for Barbie. Barb, hope Leandy didn't steal it from you.

These girls are crazy and so fun. I really needed this weekend away. It does the body good to laugh and be with good friends.

Misty turned the big 40, so we chipped in and got her a cross from Kenneth Wyatt. As you can see we signed the back and I think she really liked it. Right after she looked at it, heck she went and got a hammer and before you know it, we were finding a spot for it right in her entry hall. It looked so good in her house. By the way I love her house, so cute. She has done alot of work on it and it shows.

Ikea, what a crazy place. I have never seen a place where you could totally redo your house and decorate the whole thing in one store. Good thing I flew and Annette didn't have any more hands or I might have bought alot more. (Annette helped with my carry ons on the plane!!)

We had our summer cheerleading camp this last week. Kaleigh had a good time, she likes to learn the cheers and dance... typical girl I guess. She wants to be a cheerleader and play volleyball. I hate to tell her, but in Dumas, she can't do both. Who knows what will happen when she grows up. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

This is the Alley Cafe as you can see. Its a great little restaurant and the perfect place for our red raider ralley. It rained all day and we were afraid we wouldn't have a very good turnout. We had about 45 people come and they all enjoyed our speaker, food and our silent and live auction items. We now have an endowed scholarship, not sure what that actually means, but I think its good!!

Carl's brother David, wife Heather and son Logan came to Dumas to come to the party and visit. We enjoyed their stay and getting to know Heather and Logan better. We are planning a trip to Dallas soon. Thats David sitting next to Carl

I'm glad its over, Now we are getting geared up for the Boot Scootin Gala and Back to School night. Our summer is about over and school is about here. I think we are ready. We have bought some clothes and supplies and I think the kids are bored and ready to see their friends. Till next time.....

She works on her serve every day. We tell her she needs to do push ups during the commercials so she can build up some muscles and get those serves over the net. One day it will happen.

Kaleigh absolutely loves volleyball. Thanks to Paula and Madison, the YMCA had a camp. They had a lot of girls and I think they did a great job. I am slowly but surely catching up on my blog, but still have so much to show and tell. Just got back from a wonderful trip to Dallas with the girls and can't wait to share some of the things we did. Amazing Grace

They asked in church a few weeks ago if anyone would like to sing or play any special music in July. You know me I was like perfect, Kaleigh can play her violin. We asked Evan (kaleigh's teacher) if she had any music we could learn quick. She had amazing grace and Kaleigh learned it in no time. She was so nervous. We think she did a great job. My video skills are not very good, but I promise I will keep practicing. Now that I know how to upload, you may get sick of our videos. I hope not!!

Dumas Museum

Before we headed to Amarillo to meet Lori, we stopped at the Musuem to let Cooper look around. I think he really liked it. He especially liked the post office. He kept wanting to go back there and mail his letter. Kaleigh and Cannon have gone there like a million times and never get tired of it. So next time Cooper comes to visit, I'm sure it will be on our list to do. Till next time...

Swimming lessons

Cannon could not wait to start swim lessons. We get there Monday and I guess he had stage fright or something. He wouldn't get in the water. I couldn't believe it. I tried to put him in the water, he was hanging on to my leg and crying. We went to the bathroom and had a little visit and finally he got in. Geez. He loved them. He almost cried on Friday because he didn't want them to be over. He did great and his instructor said he was best in his class... Of course!!! He is so excited he doesn't have to wear his floaties anymore. He loves to dive now and does it off of the diving board. Till next time....

Cooper D's visit in Dumas

Cooper came to visit us and boy did we have a good time. He is a good kid and I just love him to death. He only cried once, the first night. He wanted Lori, but it passed and he did great saturday and sunday night. Cannon let him sleep with one of his elephants and I guess that made it better. We went swimming, ate at McDonalds and played, went to the museum, jumped on the trampoline, and popped some leftover fireworks. Let me just say we kept him busy. Now looking back, I think the reason he didn't cry the last two nights is because he was worn out. We met Lori and Shandy in Amarillo on Monday and I think he wanted to see his momma, but he wasn't so sure he wanted to leave Kaleigh and Cannon. Lori said he slept for like 6 hrs Monday. We did learn that Cooper is not much for watching T.V. Kaleigh and Cannon are and they were glad to see some much needed shows they had missed!! Our summer is slowly but surely getting away from us. Cannon just finished swim lessons, Kaleigh starts volleyball camp tomorrow and we have company coming in this weekend for the tech alumni party. So much fun and great memories. Till next time...

4th at Dane and Lori's

Carl loaded up some cows and we headed to Silverton for the 4th. It worked out perfect, Lori was having a party and we got to go. The food was great and it was good to see everyone. Kaleigh and Cannon love Cooper and playing with him. This is a camper that Dane stays in when he gets in trouble with Lori!! The kids loved playing in it.

What would the 4th be without a little frog hunting. Silverton had a ton of rain, so there were alot of them roaming around. Cannon was in hog heaven. We left them in Silverton. A few days later, Cannon said, " I hope my frogs are being good for Lori."

If I had long hair, I would try this little do. I love this messy ponytail/bun. But I don't, so I won't. Thats it.... I'm growing my hair out!!

The 4th, part 2

Kaleigh played her violin at the 4th of July festivities in Dumas. She was a little nervous to be performing in front of people she didn't know. She did great! Here she is introducing her song... Boil them Cabbages. I love it.

Just making sure you don't get bored with my posts. Here is Mr. T. Carl found him and brought him home. We let him go after about 3 weeks. He lived in our pool with a frog and a salamander Cannon found. I decided it was time to let him go after he ate off one of the frogs legs and the salamanders tail. Cannon kept asking me what turtles ate, I guess we know now! Our neighbors asked if we lost a turtle, he ended up on their front porch. I know some of you can't wait to see pictures of little Coop and his visit with us. But I must stay in order of events. So stay tuned, they are coming. Till next time...

The 4th

I did some research before heading out to the fireworks show. I wanted to get some great shots and put my camera on the right settings and here is what I got. Shopping for fireworks

This is what we came home with. They lasted about 5 minutes, but were alot of fun. The kids each held a roman candle, which was a new experience. They did great. Kaleigh screamed every time it shot a fire ball.

Talon Point

This is the lake at Talon Point. The church youth went out there the other Sunday and we were invited too. It is a great place for kids and adults!! Steve from church has done a ton of work out there. Talon Point is kind of like a laid back hotel with lots of fun things to do. They have reunions out there, weddings, and they also work with the panhandle childrens foundation. They have special needs camps for kids. You take a turn before you get to the hotel and just a shot ride and you are at the steve made lake. We did the zip line, swam, rode in the paddle boats and some of the kids rode horses. Its a great place. I hope we do it again and stay longer.

At the end of the zip line are some tires and then Carl would catch us. Except Jill. Carl and Steve were giving her a hard time and they decided not to catch her and she ziped back out to the lake. I think Carl had to swim a little to get her. She is a mess!

I even got in on the action. It was great... Good grief I need some sun!!

I couldn't resist getting a picture of Cannon in the paddle boat. He was just a happy little camper paddling away.

Cannon loved the zip line, everytime he left, he would start yelling kowabunga dude!!!!

This picture pretty much summed up our day!!
